Overture 5 was supposed to be released last fall, but right before the expected release Don announced that they had decided to go in a different direction, and that there wouldn’t be a release yet, and that he couldn’t say more about why.

Coming from a small privately help company, such a statement implied there was a merger/acquisition afoot. I’ve never actually used Overture, it’s too god awful ugly, but it’s feature set is certainly in the same ballpark as Notion; i.e. press the tab key to bring up an edit MIDI overlay, etc.

So, I thought that the two of you might be joining forces. Seems like a good fit, function wise.

Hooray! :D

P. S. I looked at the Overture 4 user interface and had a panic attack . . .

hmm, Overture 4 interface is maybe ugly, but its look like deep VSTi control in score.

Yes. Not only has PRV, but check out the tab key overlay that lets you draw cc data in right over the score.

Speaking of joining forces, I prefer imagine what great things could happen if ever we could see something like a Notion3/Reaper cooperation... :)

i try demo, program is good, but one big minus is set up instrument in score, or add VSTi. There is no documentation how to use VSTi, or i dont find it. I try many hours to run VSTi. Finally after couple hours i operate it. But name VSTi in score dont work. Maybe bug... Notion have better easy and quick score set up. But Overture have the full midi editing that is big plus, and i wish to see it in Notion 4 and with good and easy set up.

Why not start by reading the user guide ?
p. 1.15 Score setup
p. 5.6/5.7 VST Manager

I readed, but in score setup is not any word how to add VSTi on score. And VST manager, i dont find it in user guide, but there is Instrument Rack - i discover it without reading guide. I must search this word because i have cca 700 pages, not as x.xx (1.15)
