How to reset measure numbering?

Postby David Smith » Sun May 30, 2010 2:25 am

Inadvertently I have changed a measure number in the middle of a score so that the measures are:
79 80 58 59 60 61 62...
Anyone know how to reset it so that it will be sequential?

Hi David.

Select the first *odd-numbered* measure.
From the pull down menu (ctrl click on mac) choose *Measure [n] / Always show measure number*
Click on the at measure number on the staff to edit it.
Press enter or click outside the editing box to confirm.
Set *Measure [n] / Never show measure number*, if needed.

Hope this helps

Thanks. Your suggestion did help.
In case someone else sees this problem...
Oddly, when I did this, the subsequent measure acquired the same measure number. I tried to edit it, but I couldn't change it. After a couple of tries with the current and adjacent measures, it seemed that something was awry at that particular measure. I inserted 2 new measures, and typed in the same notes, then deleted the 2 suspect measures. Then re-applied your method and it worked. :)

It happens to me too.
I simply delete the barline between the (now) right and the (now) odd numbered measure,
then reapply it (*i*).
Looks like it is not able to *refresh* the seqeunce...
I noticed it from long, but reckoned a lesser issue.
Since they now release a build a week, I'll submit a bug report ;)
