Just sharing a little trick I use when I compose for strings, in this example for solo violin.
I add a tablature to the instrument, defining the tuning properly (for violin: G3 D4 A4 E5) so I can use the tablature and the fretboard to help me write down chords, double strings and portamentos that are playable. I'm able to use a lot more of the instrument's resources when I can check where are the player's fingers on the instrument.

That's a very good idea!
Is what you've included here a comprehensive set of what's possible for the violin instrument?
Have you made any other examples for the other strings?

Sorry for the very late reply.
You can use the tablatures for any string instrument. Of course you won't need that on simple things or an arrangement, but if you are writing with detail for a cello or viola, solo or chamber music, it's very useful to use the tablature, to see what is really possible. You just need to tell Notion the strings tuning for that instrument.

No, this is just a small sample of using the fretboard to help you write things that are possible!
Chords, glissandos...
