I've had a problem since using Notion, more of an annoyance than anything, but most of the time I can't create barline groups. I've tried removing all groups from all staves and then making a set of staves a barline group, but nothing happens.
Any ideas on this one? Using a Mac and Notion 4.

Re: Problems with Barline Groups
Make sure that the staves you are trying to edit barline, bracket and brace groups for, are in order with each other. I just went through all of the options for setting up and changing barline, bracket and brace groups with no problems. If you want, send a screen shot displaying what you are trying to do.

Re: Problems with Barline Groups
All staves are in order, standard staves. I can make brackets and braces, but when I select a group of staves and choose the barline group nothing happens. This is most frequently seen in files imported from xml or midi. Maybe that has some impact?
Attached is a file which is giving me trouble.
Thanks,
Michael

Re: Problems with Barline Groups
Hi idiotSavant,
I have had this problem since I first became a Notion user more than 3 years ago. Always in imported XML files. Another common problem for me (related?) is that some imported XML files will have an unremovable bracket on all staves in the file. The only solution I have found is to copy everything into a manually created, blank file with the same staff setup.
I have reported this as a bug years ago. The Notion staff should have it in their database somewhere.
Best wishes,
Thorrild

Re: Problems with Barline Groups
Hi all,
I have updated this bug report and raised it to the forefront again. It does seem to work if you use the workaround of starting a new score as Thorrild suggested, so for now, this is the solution. Hopefully we will get it resolved in the near future.
