Vibrato on woodwinds (Notion instruments)

Postby VyseLegend » Sat Nov 07, 2009 4:16 pm

Any idea if we are ever going to get this feature? Would save a lot of headache, but if its not recorded, its not recorded.

You can use vibrato with 3rd party instruments, i.e. EWQLSO.
As for integrated Notion instruments, maybe someone from Notion can comment on this.

Yes I'm aware, I'm asking specifically about Notion's native instruments.

Try using Notion2 samples, as I feel they are much more realistic than the N3 samples. I'm not a fan of the close mike samples. With N2 samples, all the woodwinds have vibrato in long notes, except of course, for the clarinet. You can't control the vibrato rate, but you can hear it.

I noticed it was there on some of the Notion2 instruments, particularly flute. There seems to be a very faint vibrato on the tail end of some of the Notion3 instruments.

In general, however, I don't see using pure Notion2 instruments as a solution. I really don't find them as full or real sounding in general.
