Hi,
I want to print a piece but on some pages the staffs do not fit on a page. When I look at the other templates in Notion, the staffs are much smaller and more instruments fits on a page.
Has Notion the possibilities of scaling or other possibilities to fit the staffs on a page?

I know the answer. It was in the user guide(oops)
You can alter the notation size (in the menu Score, Full score options, Layout)

It would, however, be nice to be able to stretch or compress the auto layout slightly (horizontally), without changing the vertical scaling or the size.
Seems like whenever I score something I need to fit one more measure on a page, and it would be nice to be able to do this without changing the settings for the whole score. I often want to reproduce a printed score's page layout, and it's amazing how dense those old music engravers could get the notes and still maintain readability. One area where a computer still has to catch up with the subtlety of human skill, I guess.

And another issue, now that I think about it...
Has anyone else experienced the situation where you have set up a measure to force to the next system, and when changing that it garbles the balance of the score into one massive mess of systems, all on top of each other? Then it's almost impossible to select the measure that is wigging the whole thing out. Drives me nuts...

Re: Staffs do not fit on a page
Hi Michael,
I think the problem is that Notion isn't always recalculating the number of pages in a score when it should. Fortunately, the solution is easy: Switch to Continuous View, then switch back to the Page View you came from, and all is well.
Best,
Thorrild

Thorrild, thanks. I'll try that next time it happens. You've dug deep, my friend.
