Gentlemen,
I'm looking for a free - or closely inhexpensive - VST eq to add to N3's console weaponry.
I wish to smooth some edge of the string section (whose grainy sound in cellos and basses I otherwise like in his *Mahlerian* character, as you're always scoring the beginning of the 2nd symphony).
Consider I'm a mixing illeterate.
Any suggestion?
Greetings

Have you tried asking in the kvr forum?
http://www.kvraudio.com
They have an effects section. Meanwhile I'll try and find the name of a couple, but just about to go to work.
Edit: Just remembered these:

They have number of free effects and free EQ.

Thank you.
Edit:

DDMF eqs (IIEQ Pro, LP10 and ColourEQ) are top quality: http://www.ddmf.eu/
Each of them can be bought for as low as 35 Eurocents (or 50 US cents) - you decide how much you want to pay.

@Szurcio1: Thanks, these sound good! I had never before heard of them and will certainly give them a try, too
