Deactivation - possible, or not?

Postby dhodgson » Sun Apr 14, 2013 12:41 pm

On http://notionmusic.com/products/notion4.html it mentions that "Each purchase of Notion 4 comes with two (2) installations." Yet when I tried uninstalling Notion 4 it did not mention anything about deactivating. I'm often in a position where I'm having to backup and restore past OS images as part of my workload, and the last thing I need is for Notion's servers to think I've got more copies of Notion running than I really do - and having it prevent me from reinstalling the program under a scratch OS.

So: Deactivation - possible, or not? Should I be aware of any protection-related issues here, or should I not really be worrying about this? Apologies if this has been brought up before, but I didn't see it mentioned in the FAQ.

You deactivate from within Notion, BEFORE you uninstall. It's on the Help menu.

If you're referring to "Help/Software Activation..." the answer is no. It only has two buttons, "Receive Licenses" and "Cancel". There isn't anything else to play with.

Hi dhodgson,

You need to contact tech support, either by email at support@notionmusic.com or by phone at 1-866-398-2994 (if you're calling from the U.S.). They will help you with this issue; other Notion users are not going to be of much assistance when it comes to deactivation of licenses.

Best wishes,
