This will make Notion' staff lazy at developing CC mod capabilities :D

That's a step in the right direction, but it has some potential disadvantages: rewriting channel-switching rulesets to use keyswitches, using MIDI Port outputs instead of loading the VST's in Notion, CC values may start out wrong when the MIDI channel switches until the next CC value change. It also doesn't solve the problem for integrated Notion presets.

I'm glad you pointed this out, though, I haven't seen this before and it looks like it could be a very useful program.

Yes, the bigger downside seems to be that it is a stand alone program and not a VSTi. We could certainly route MIDI to the program, but that could complicate things more than needed. Furthermore, routing MIDI out of Notion and then back into a DAW could use up extra computer resources.

Does anyone know of any alternatives to Chainer or VSTBoard? Preferably something cross platform so that we can offer default setups in addition to the rules code?

This bit in the new rules documentation:

<if duration-gt="0.5" />
<if duration-lt="0.25" />
<if duration-ge="0.75" />
<if duration-le="1.5" />
Duration is in seconds.

is pretty darn cool. I'll test it this weekend, but this seems like a way to apply short techniques to fast notes and not just staccato, etc.
