I'm afraid that I have to agree with TOSCANINI....However, I've learned that this practice is meant to be some sort of "aggressive" marketing hype... but usually ends up by making users really mad and frustrated ...I really don't understand this philosophy ...as long as the product is not going to be polished in anyway - even they show the features or not,if there are problems, they're going to be still present for a long.. long period of time....

Re: Notion...ver. 4
I am making an effort not to wander so much in other people's topics, so with this in mind my perspective on providing advance information on digital music production software is that there are a few companies who make diligent efforts to keep advance information sparse, where Propellerhead Software and Steinberg are two examples, and the primary reason for doing this involves the way their products are used, where one of the key aspects is that these two companies have technologies which are industry standards, which in the grand scheme of everything is vastly important . . .
And this also applies to Notion Music, because in addition to NOTION and the various other applications, Notion Music also does NOTION LIve, which is a digital music production service performed by NOTION Certified specialists using NOTION Certified hardware and software . . .
NOTION Live
Software and hardware should work no matter what the scenario, and If Christina Aguilera, Miley Cyrus, Lady Gaga, and Britney Spears were here in the sound isolation studio doing backup vocals for the upcoming "Ménage à Cinq" album by Surfwhammy & The Lorna Doones and a software bug required me to reboot the Mac Pro, I would not be very happy, but the lovely ladies could entertain themselves for a few minutes by sharing tips on make-up, and the world would not end, really . . .
"Shake, Rattle & Roll" (Elvis Presley) -- YouTube music video
Really!
However, if I were doing NOTION Live for a Broadway musical or a concert with several thousand people in the audience and the software stopped working, I think I would have a panic attack and wet my underpants, in which case what I want to know is that the core stuff works reliably . . .
Summarizing, I think it makes more sense to use the next few weeks to determine whether your current computing hardware can handle everything required for successful 64-bit digital music production, which is such an important consideration that I created a fabulous new topic on it, which is fabulous . . .
Fabulous!

I wouldn't call three forum posts with little info "aggressive marketing hype" at all. Aggressive marketing hype would be big banners on KVR and Gearslutz saying "Notion 4 COMING SOON - Sell Your Sibelius and Finale license, Compose Faster, and Compose Better with Notion 4!" Followed by Notion reps going on every message board in the world posting about how awesome Notion 4 will be.
Instead, we've seen a few posts essentially saying "it's in beta and almost done," then finally, "it's pretty much done, we'll be ready for launch with a new website in October - we're still really busy though, so more info to follow." I think you need to take them at their word. Planning a new product launch with a new website is no small undertaking for a relatively small company and can easily eat into resources.
I'd like more info too, but it looks like we'll have to hang on a bit longer. I'm sure it'll be any day now...
