Great piece, Wilhoit. I gotta go hear the other movements now!
How long did it take you to write?

Glad you like it!
The new (Notion) renderings of the other movements are in preparation; I'm going to try to post them yet this month.
You would have to ask the single most awkward possible question about this particular piece, wouldn't you? I began work on it in 1974. Of course over the intervening decades there were long periods during which I didn't touch it and I wrote many other things along the way. The bulk of the work was done in 1991-92 and in 2010. Now that I have Notion and therewith the possibility of substantially better audio renderings, I'm passing a damp rag over it one last time. Looking forward to getting it in the can and off my back.
Thanks,

Wow. That's older than I've been walking around.
Glad you finished(ing) it though. I have some works sitting around I need to finish, but it's so daunting to start on something from even a year ago.

The first of those links didn't work for me: it's just a bunch of letters.
The piece is quite well done. In some places it's exciting and even moving. Skillful use of counterpoint. Nice work!
