New recording. I think I'm getting the hang of this. :D

This version uses VSL instruments and is recorded in MIRPro Teldex Studio.

As always, feedback is greatly appreciated!

Very good job, Michael.
Your VSL musicians are growing up more and more consistently as an ensemble — due to their conductor's talent.
The recording is also a pleasant one, though it sounds a bit like one from the early days of Naxos label. I'm sure that
SoundCloud compression algorithm has its part in it.
Best regards.

Thanks, Fabio! I think that the Naxos sound may have more to do with the choice of the Teldex hall for convolution reverb than anything. It's a smaller sound stage and tends to give the sound more presence. That may be what you're hearing, but I'm guessing. I'm playing with alternate venues now. I have one on the Sage Gateshead Hall One which is a bit fuller and richer, but at the same time sounds a bit more distant.

By the way, I also tried a pre-Stokowski layout in this recording. This was my first attempt at this, with the Violins I on the left and Violins II on the right. There are also two harps in this piece which I've spread left and right on the stage. It's interesting, creates more balance in the sound.

Re-recording utilizing alternative venue (Northern Rock Foundation Hall) and slight enrichment of the lows in the strings. Plus a little more oomph in the brass.
