I just got progression for Christmas and am trying to input notes using my electric guitar. I don't have a MIDI guitar, so i'm wondering if its possible to do a workaround using a jack to USB cable?

If you have any type of device that is midi capable for the guitar (midi pick up etc) you can use this method. Otherwise you'll need to use the mouse and keyboard.
