How Do I Create A Split Point For Piano?

I recently purchased progression but for some reason when recording midi for piano (using the Grand Staff) All the notes (regardless of pitch) seem to just enter onto the top treble clef, even if I'm playing low left handed bass parts.
Surely this can't be a restriction in the programme to encourage me to buy the full edition of Notion 3
Any help on the matter would be much appreciated
