Hi collective brain,

I am having a hard time slurring more than two notes in Notion for iPad. I can only get slurs to work by highlighting the second note and clicking the "slur" button, and it only slurs it with the note previous. If I want a melody of four notes to be played legato, what do I do?

Hi Ann,

Here's how:
1. Double-tap a bar to call up the selection rectangle with the blue adjustment handles. (Or press Select in the palette)
2. Drag the blue handles so that the notes you want to slur are highlighted.
3. Tap the slur button.

I'm not the OP but I cannot for the life of me get this to work as expected.

What I'm trying to do:

1. I have a an eight note at the end of a measure
2. I have a quarter note to start the next measure
3. I want to slur the eight note at the end of measure 1 into the quarter note at beat 1 of measure 2

What I do:

1. Click the select button
2. Click and drag the blue selection bar so that the two notes I want to slur are selected
3. Click the slur button

Result: Nothing happens. No slur is added. The selection icon remains.

I'm able to slur an entire measure, but slurs are not working across measures.

Thank you for your help thorrild! I got it now. And Funkybot, I was able to highlight two measures on the same line and have a slur over all, but I can't do it if the measure falls on the next line. However, in the latest update I set my viewing preferences to show up to 5 measures per line. Hope this helps.

I was able to continue a slur to the next line, but it took a number of tries, sliding the selection box around. A finger works better than a stylus. And this was on a single line score. I haven't tried it with multiple staves. I also had no problem with slurring across barlines.

The selection box definitely needs some work, but it does function.
