Ride cymbal causing garbled sound [bug?]

I'm having a reproducible problem with garbled sound when using the ride cymbal. Specifically, the first 4 (and sometimes 5) bars of 7/8 at 140 bpm are fine, but starting in the 5th or 6th bar, usually at the bar line, all of the playback sound suddenly become fairly garbled, and stays that way until either playback is paused or playback finishes. The only workaround I've found is not to use the ride cymbal for more than a couple of bars.

If anyone has a solution or a better workaround, I'd be glad to hear it.
