I'm using Notion SLE Miroslav Philharmonik 3.1.258.0 on a Win7 64bit computer.

Recently when starting Notion, I've had a pop-up window telling me there's an update and asking if I'd like to update. When I click on 'Yes' I get this message:

'The following exception occurred when parsing parameters:

"Unknown parameters are used"

Commandline: -updatefile

Check if the parameters being used are correct.

If the error keeps occuring, contact the developer at http://www.catenalogic.com

I've ignored it until now. However, tonight I tried looking through the forum for advice on this and as far as I could tell, the advice was to manually download the update from here - http://www.notionmusic.com/support/downloads.html. I did this, but simply ended up with a version of Notion 3 which asked me for a licence number when I tried to run it. I put in the licence number I have for Notion SLE, but that didn't work.

Things have been working just fine, but now I'm worried that my version of Notion SLE will stop working when the demo on the regular version runs out.

So, I'd like to know if I can just uninstall the regular version of Notion without causing any problems for my version of Notion SLE. I'd also like to know how to update or else how to stop the error/pop-up messages.

I've uninstalled the version of Notion 3 that I downloaded and Notion SLE is still running fine. However, I still get the pop-up window, which is a nuisance.

I'd appreciate any advice on allowing Notion SLE to update or else getting rid of the pop-up window.

As you can tell from my last post, I hadn't managed to update my Notion SLE.

Well after posting, I had another look at it and discovered I had made a pretty basic error on the downloads page and downloaded the wrong thing. Of course, clicking on the right tab let me download the latest version, which works just fine, as before.

So, feeling rather foolish, I'm happy to report all is well again.
