N3 expansion kits

Are the N3 percussion expansion kits a rebundling of the N2 Expanded Percussion I, II, and III sets?

If they are different and the N2 samples will be unavailable for sale henceforth, I'd like to try to grab N2 Expanded Percussion II and III kits in the retail channel while some remain - just to round out my N2 samples while I can.

Thanks.

Hold off on purchasing the expansion kits. N3 comes bundled with most of the percussion samples we have, and any that aren't included will be available for purchase on an instrument by instrument case.

You'll also get ALL of the percussion samples (that means all of the kits) with the included N2 library. Basically what I'm saying is wait till you get your copy of N3 and figure out which samples you need in particular and purchase them "a la carte" from the NOTION store.

Hope this helps!

What does it mean on the new Notion3 site when it says not all the released sample kits will be available for use in Notion3? I have all the released kits and would like to use all of them in Notion3. I see that many(but not all) of the kits will come bundled free of charge in Notion3, but how are you going to address using all of the released kits, if the ones not bundled with Notion3 are apparently not compatible?

Jake,

Here is what I think you are implying about legacy N2 sounds/kits:

1. The sounds in the N2 kits we now own will not work directly in N3.

2. There will soon be a site/store for sounds not included in N3 from which we will be able to download legacy N2 sounds for free and use with N3.

3. However, if we wish to upgrade a sound to the new close mic version, then we will have to purchase it.

Have I parsed your message correctly? :?:

Thanks,

DrH

I think he means that Notion 2 customers with expanded sounds will receive the Notion 3 sounds to replace them at no cost, but I might be wrong...

Are the example sound files for Mandolin and Banjo supposed to be the same?

That would be great. The only question still is will they do a quick-and-dirty-now-they-can-used-with-N3 conversion of legacy N2 sounds not bundled with N3 so that our current scores that use than will still work?

I ask because you gotta know (and this is not a dig) that it will take a while to re-record *all* of the N2 sounds that they haven't re-recorded already.

totally confused.....are you asking if we're going to give you the N3 versions of the sound kits you've already purchased? The answer is yes...they'll be available via download.

Not sure if this answered your question, but if it didn't lemme know and I'll try to give you a better one:)

Kyle,

I think the confusion might be mine because it is based on (a) the N3 expansion sounds already listed in Notion's online store, (b) not knowing yet how many N3 instruments/tehcniques will be included in N3, and (c) the assumption that not all of the N2 sounds now available have yet been re-recorded in the new format.

Therefore, I guess the first step to clearing up my confusion is to ask:

Have *all* of the legacy N2 instruments/techniques previously sold in expansion kits been re-recorded in the new N3 format and will therefore will be available to those of us who own the corresponding N2 Expansio Kit?

Thnx!

DrH

P.S. A complete and detailed list of N3 instruments (and especially the playing techniques for those instruments) that will be bundled with N3 would probably help. Is one available?
