Sorry for the delay in posts everyone!!

So this week I decided to change it up a bit. Instead of posting a NOTION3 file with beats I'm posting a .wav file for you all to utilize the "attach audio" feature. The "beat" is at 96bpm and is 16 bars in duration. Since we're "attaching audio" you'll need to keep your score at that tempo and you'll need to copy the wav file where you'd like to hear it in your score.

Here are the steps to get this "beat" into your score:

1. download the .wav file (http://www.notionmusic.com/audio/hiphopbeat1.wav)
2. create a "basic staff" in your NOTION score (this is located in the "Special Staffs" tab of the Score Setup menu)
3. Set your tempo to 96 BPM
4. Place your cursor on the "basic staff" you created.
5. Save your file (if you don't save your file you can't attach audio).
6. Under Tools in the menu select "attach audio"
7. Select the .wav file
8. Place the .wav file with your cursor in the score where you'd like it to begin.
9. If you'd like the "beat" to play past 16 bars you'll need to duplicate the file.

Enjoy!! I hope to hear some of your creations!!!

Hip-hop beat

Postby Rudi » Thu Jun 10, 2010 1:06 am

Hi Kyle, thanks for the beat! Sounds great, but for my purposes it is too "melodic". Is there a chance to get a midi? Thanks in advance, Rudi

Because I did this with rewire and logic I'm not sure it'll help too much to give you the midi file.

I'll try to give it another shot this week and make it "less melodic"

;)

Hi Kyle, this thread seems to have fallen asleep... It's a pity! Cheers, Rudi

This is a great idea, sharing beats and other reusable stuff! thank you.

Now I have a special folder, some kind of notion snippets library, with beats and also other bits like special scales and formulaes to copy and paste into my everyday work!

Waiting for more contributions (and hopefully posting mine soon) ;)
