Lots of bugginess in fingered tremolos

Postby thorrild » Wed Mar 10, 2010 5:36 pm

This is a duplicate of a bug report, just to get pictures included:

(See Step 1 below) Piano part, two layers. Layer 1 is a held note, layer 2 a two-beat fingered tremolo, plus unrelated notes later in the bar. Enter the tremolo as quarters.

(Step 2 below) Type shift-/// for the fingered tremolo cursor and click on the first downstem note: The tremolo beams appear between the two quarters, but only the second has the correct notehead (half note), and if one of the notes is below the middle staff line, the tremolo group is displayed upstem and cannot be changed. In addition, the duration of the last 8th note is now a 16th.

(Step 3) Pressing q for quarter note and clicking on the first tremolo note fixes the problem: The note head changes to a half-note head, but the stems are still frozen upward. - Sorry, I forgot to turn on the layer colors until now.
Step 3.tiff

Playback: For 3-beam tremolo like this, only the second note in the group plays back, in other words, the bar starts with a half-note G octave. If I had used a 2-beam tremolo, the first note would have repeated 4 times as 16ths, the second tremolo note would be silent.
