Rules for Midi Ports

Postby Luis » Wed Mar 10, 2010 3:33 pm

I´d like to use NOTION 3 as Midi source for an external syntetyzer trhough the four midi ports A, B,

C, D, provided by NOTION. I have tried and it works but you cannot change the patch or articulation from the NOTION interface, and it should be very usefull.

Since every rule is made for EWQL, VSL or other libraries and don´t find any for midi, my questions are:
1) Is there already any rule script for customizing to Midi outs ? (I guess no).
2) In the case that it is posible, and somebody so kind to help with it.
- What name and where should the script (.prules file) be for Notion to recognize and read it?
- What name to use for the midi port and channel number ?

for instance to construct sort of rules like:

<rule name="Mart Up/Dn">
<if midi-port="1" />
<if midi-channel="7" />
<if articulation="staccato-accent" />
<velocity-change bump="15" />
<key-switch type="note-on-prefix" midi-pitch="40" velocity="127" />
</rule>

Where I don´t know how to reference a "midi-port" and an especific "midi channel" into it.
Just this three items I think that should be enough:

- Filename
- Midi Port reference
- Midi channel refference.

I think that though some easy setup for External Synths the spectrum of posibilies of NOTION could be greately improved. I shall share with you the resulting script if done.

Thanks for your help.
