I recently found a great little VST plug in for reverb tails as an alternative to what I've been using. It's a bit unconventional as far as reverbs go, but I think it may be the answer I've been looking for to warm up my chilly VSL mixes! So I wanted to share it:
http://www.valhalladsp.com
I'd highly recommend downloading the free trial version and giving it a spin! I'm really impressed by the sound quality and ease of use. It seems to immediately give my mixes warmth, depth and width! And... it's $50.
I'll post some mixes using it soon.

+1 on Valhalla.
I use it as my main reverb for everything, though I originally bought it to use as a early reflection verb combined with a convolution verb.
I just ended up liking the overall sound of Valhalla better than the convolution verb, and Valhalla is FAR easier to use (IMHO)...

Kurt, interesting. I'm very new to it (1 day) but I'm trying it out for providing reverb tail (late reflections) in combination with MIRPro convolution for early reflections.

I've thought about messing with that reversed approach myself, but I just don't have enough horsepower to pull that off. Valhalla has an extremely light touch in terms of the CPU (far less than my convo verb), so that's why I was going to using it for ERs.
Guess I've got a reason to go out and buy a beefier machine now!

As promised, here's a link to a quartet piece using Valhalla Room. This also uses Native Instruments Passive EQ for mastering.
Enjoy, and let me know what you think!
