Want to share something !

I just want to share something with you all.
Recently I had project to change my old M-Audio Audiophile of 7 years old.
The major reason was that M-audio is not providing Drivers for New Osx 10.9.
So,
Questioning myself about my needs, I understood very fast that almost all product in that domain offered me to much, or not what I use.
I'm working essentially with Notion 4 and DP8 combine with VSL SE library, running on a Early 2008 MacPro, Dual 2,26GHz Quad-Core, 32Gb ram OS X 10.8.6 ...10.9 !
I decided to start from the base, and try to do my work from and only the Mac alone !!
Just connect the MacPro «Internal line output» to my modest Sound System which is a Amplifier : Nakamichi 730 receiver, Bose 900 with a personalized Equalizer plus Beryllium Tweeters.
Open DP8 on a project of 32 VSL MirX instrument tracks, loading close to 8Gb into Ram and I pressed on «Play» !
I though about getting lagging, latency, and so on, and of course, a bad quality sound !
Believe it or not, Nothing of this happened.
The whole running smoothly and asking for less than 40% of the possible processing !
The result is simply astonishing !
- clarity
- instrument presence
- details of textures and timbres
- deep ambience of the room
- very nice sound image
- simply incredibly realistic
I'm working on that setup for a week now and I have no regret at all.
Now a DAC, the AudioQuest Dragonfly 1.2 is my goal and would be the best and low cost solution for me !
Voilà !
Best
