hi please take a look of the picture
it very clear that its impossible to edit the instruments in the bottom
whole drums track is covered by the note-entry menu
(as you can see i already scrolled down to the bottom end)
anyone know how to fix it?
now i have to add two or three extra instruments in the bottom to make drums track goes up
Edit:
Hi , i also found that all three type arpeggios are
"sound before the beat"
(I already turned off all effects in mixer)
any easy way to make it "sound on the beat"?

You will need to go to the "Window" drop down list.
Deselect show Palette.
If you want to have quick access to the palette, you can right click anywhere on the score when nothing is selected.

You can edit the sequencer overlay to create manual arpeggios.
Press Tab.
lick on the start points of the notes you would like to edit and drag the starts to a later time.
If you "stair step" the start times, you can create beautiful sounding arpeggiation.

Re: problems about continuous view & arpeggios
hi admin thanks for reply
im sorry to say...
dis-selecting 'Show Palette' doesnt make thing better
as u can see in the following pic. the drum pad & library menu is still blocking the drums track
so i think Notion team should adjust the height of bottom-space in the next update
make it higher.. so that the bottom track is editable EVEN with 'Show Palette' on
also for arpeggios, it would be way better if the development team add an extra button
let the user switch 'before the beat' & 'on the beat' quickly
and..i just found out after importing xml , midi file
there are lots of awkward enharmonic spelling
any way to make 'multi-bar' enharmonic-respelling ?
(IMO, it seems Notion is weak in handling importing file
Sibelius & Finale are better in this aspect
nonetheless, so far i think Notion is much superior in overall)
regards
kA

Re: problems about continuous view & arpeggios & importing f
1. Go to Score Setup: "Command + T"
2. Move the Drum Staff up in the list by selecting it.
3. After it turns blue, drag it up to a higher position in the score.
4. Hit Escape.
This is a work around that allows you work space. When you are done writing in the staff, you can put it back where you want it to go.
This is an unfortunate issue in which the number of instruments that you are using, mixed with the order, is causing the drum notation tools to cover up the Drum Staff. You can always close the drum notation editor when you are finished, but you need to get the drum staff into a place that is viewable.
With regards to the palette, it will show up wherever you click when using the right click option to show the palette. So, in that case, click somewhere you are not working or wanting to see.

after reading yr last reply, i can handle the position of palette very well
thanks for that
Ok sorry what i really mean is to make the bottom track editable Even with palette in its default postion
and i knew the track's position is movable
but it would be a bit annoying
i have tried almost all commercial scorewriters in Wikipedia list
and seem Notion is the only one got this problem
if it has to be this way
i rather be adding two extra tracks under the drum track
and delete them after composing
the aim of my post is to make Notion team aware of these things
hopefully can see some improvements in the next update
but now i got another problem, really serious
the vst; hypersonic is not working : NO sounds
(it works well with other scorewriters
i have read the user guide p142-144 and still dont have a clue)
a pic is enclosed, hope to make things clear
if i do nothing, just close the vst interface
(sawtooth is the default instrument)
there is no problem, i can hear fine sawtooth sound
but if i make any instrument change in the vst interface
then no sound
did i do any wrong or miss something ?
thanks

VST problem update:
a few instruments can work fine, ie. some organs, pads
but many others are soundless

Re: problems about continuous view & arpeggios & importing f
1. Double check that you are writing within the range of the instruments that are loaded.
2. Double check that the VST is loaded in the correct bit mode (which I am assuming is happening, because otherwise you would hear nothing.)
3. Try disabling the VST in the VST Manager, and then enable it again.
4. See if there are updates for the VST.
Questions:
What OS are you using? Does the VST have any separate control over the audio interface it is using? Can you get the sounds to playback when you load the VST in standalone mode and route out of Notion from an External MIDI instance?

i use windows xp 32bits service pack 3
yea...none of 1-4 suggestions work
i dont think hypersonic1 is able to stand alone
it was totally fine in sibelius6 , finale2014 demo
nonetheless, hypersonic donest really hurt much
since i still have other vst
hypersonic has much more sounds though
now i have a question:
the cooperation between notion & drum set vst
(no problem for build-in drum set)
if i "treat" drum set staff as treble clef staff..
then bass drum is F in normal case
but i wont have bass drum for F when using vst...
so.. i am now in trouble to make the written drums score sounds right
can i fix it manually ?
(also i cant use drum library when it is vst, not a big deal though)

Re: problems about continuous view & arpeggios & importing f
It seems that almost all Drum VST's use different note names for different Drum Sets and Sounds. Notion is the same. Unfortunately, there is not a standard, and I don't think there could be one.
You can change it manually. I would advise changing them manually.
There are several ways of going about changing it.
My suggestions:
1. Create multiple staves for Drum parts to VST. Each staff represents a drum in this case. Drum parts are easily rewritten using Step Entry Mode in Notion.
2. Export to a DAW. Grab all of the notes in the piano roll line that represent each drum in the set. Move them around to where they need to be. Then export them back into Notion. The notes will then show up in the proper location.

Re: problems about continuous view & arpeggios & importing f
Okay thanks
What about Rules?
Can it be done by
creating a rule for a particular drum vst
So that it can sound right?
(just out of curious)
If so, any helpful tutorial for that?
edit:
can i save guitar,bass tunings ?
since there is a grey 'Find' button
i suppose it can load saved/default tunings ?
but i have no clue how to use it
