Quantizing in Notion 4

Postby Andree » Sun Nov 10, 2013 10:57 am

Hi everybody,

First I have to say that Notion 4 is a really good notation software, way more user friendly than other brands on the market. Well done!

When I write music in Notion 4 I use to enter notes on my midi keyboard, during recording. The main reason is that I want to control the note length instantly, without changing it manually in the sequencer mode later on. This works fine but there is one major issue and that's quantizing. If I'm satisfied with the recorded note length but want to quantize the note, the note length is quantized as well. For me this is a really big problem and it would be much better to have separate quantizing options, one for bar quantizing and one for length quantizing. Would it be possible to add this in an updated release?

You could maybe use Reaper or ScoreCleaner to record into.

What do you mean? Why should I use another notation programme when I have Notion?

Yes, that could be an option.

Okay, thanks, but I don't think that will help me. I want to stay with Notion.
