Is there a maximum score length in measures for a N3 file?

I don't think so. I would expect that the maximum score length is just as much as your computer can handle. Scores with LOADS of things happening at once (larger vertically across staves rather than horizontally in number of staves) is probably more of a concern if you have a computer which is near or under the minimum recommended requirements though. Insert bars by pressing I and applying the barline where you want by clicking there.
