Manual CC Entry in Sequencer Staff?

Is there a way that I can manually enter a CC number and value on a sequencer staff?

If so, will N3 chase those CC entries?

Thnx!

Yep, this is described in one of the excellect tutorials over at YouTube:

Here Lubu uses the Sequencer Stall to enter Modwheel data, but you can use any CC you like.

I watched that tutorial of him entering ModWheel data, and he had do so going into record mode.

What I am wondering is if there is a way to enter CC data (especially a CC# that is not not transmitted by MIDI keyboard) *manually*; i.e. without having to record it.

For example: "At this beat, insert a CC#3 with a value of 2".

Why would I want to do this? Because I use Kontakt 3.5 vst and have scripts I have written that I trigger via normally unused CCs.

Thanks for your response,

DrH

That's actually a pretty good question...
I hope someone from Notion can enlighten us here, because I don't know either^^

If this is not possible, I hereby declare this a feature request :)

Hi,

In my opinion, this could be part of a larger ensemble : the ability to switch back and forth between notation staff and sequencer staff. Currently you can only convert a sequencer staf into a notation staff.

Since notated articulations actually trigger MIDI events, it is a way of writing MIDI events in step time. If we were given the ability to convert a notation staff into a sequencer staff, it would be quite natural to extend the step time input to any kind of controller event. That could also be quite useful to fine tune note length and position to get the best out of our orchestral libraries.

My 2 cents,
Michaƫl

Mikhail,

Good points, but remember that the whole problem is that there are *many* CCs that cannot be triggered from a MIDI keyboard, so they would not be able to be recorded in Step Time either, which is why we would need a manual, dialog-box approach to CC entry.

Why no response for Lubo or Kyle on this? Before N3 was released, Kyle told me on the NS foum that this would be no problem. How do we do it? It's crucial for anyone using other VST sample sets.
