I want Ableton to be master and Notion to be slave. I wished Notion turned every loop from ableton, while i edit the notes in Notion. That´s what i´m thinking about.

In the Ableton-Audio-Track for taking back the audio of Notion i can find Notion. OK.

In the Ableton-Midi-Track for taking the Midi-Information from Ableton to Notion (MIDI TO) i can not find Notion. I aint not transfer Midi-Notes to Notion, but there must go MIDI-Clock-Information for telling Notion when to start, when to stop and where in the Score it has to play from Ableton to Notion. Maybe it is not nessesary to build a Midi-Track for "MIDI TO".(?) So what is nessesary for connecting Ableton with Notion in the way i discribed?

I am sorry you are having trouble. This is really a tech support issue, but I will do my best to hwlp you with this matter here and if I cannot resolve your issue, please contact: support@notionmusic.com

First, I have a question for you:

1. What operating system are you using?
If you are on a 64-bit operating system, you must make certain that both Abelton and Notion are running in 64-bit mode. There is a downloadable update on the Abelton website that upgrades Abelton to 64-bit. They have to be running in the same bit mode to work together.

2. Have you turned rewire on in Notion?
You must enable Rewire in the Audio Preferences dialogue in Notion to install the proper Rewire bundle device. Once you enable Rewire, you must provide your administrator password and then you must close and restart Notion to activate the Rewire device bundle.

3. Notion 4 can run in both 64-bit and 32-bit modes. When you installed, if you are on a PC, you were asked which mode you would like to operate in, and then the correct bit mode was installed. If you are on a Mac, you can choose which mode to run in by right-clicking on the application in your application folder, and then selecting "Get Info". There will be a check box in the "Get Info" window that will allow you to switch to and from 32-bit and 64-bit.

But, the point is that you must be operating both applications in the same mode.

As far as sync is concerned, rewire provides the MIDI Sync, not MIDI time code. So, no worries there. Once you have determined your OS and bit mode, give it a try again.

Hi and thanks a lot for your answer.

You are right in all 3 parts of it.

Ableton was running in 32bit-mode. Notion was installed and running in 64bit-mode. I turned it back to 32bit.

It is not nessecary to create a Midi-Track in Ableton for sending Midi-Clock to Notion. I had to create a Audio-Track, choosing Notion to "Audio from" and turning Monitor to "in".

If i start Ableton now, Notion also starts running. Also the loop-function of Ableton takes Notion to loop.

It works.
