Notion 4: VE Pro custom staff transposing instrument?

Hi
I am completely new to Notion and I really like the concept - very simple and straightforward, yet with almost everything you need to compose using score - I have used Cubase for several years and will continue to do so, but I am a very score oriented kind of guy, so having Notion now is bliss :)

I also use Vienna Symphony Library, and I have realized that for now I cannot use my full libraries, but I am for now content with using the Special edition, and then do production in Cubase. So I have embarked on setting up full orchestral score exceeding the 4xVE Pro template using additional VE Pro instances.

- but I have encountered a problem:

After inserting a VE Pro line and routing a new custom staff to it (using shift+I), the instrument and rules work, but I cannot get it to show a transposed instrument properly - it simply ignores my transpose instructions in staff setting( Ctrl+Shift+T) . It works fine for an instrument in the VE Pro x 4 template.

Am I doing anything wrong ( I follow the instructions in the 'NOTION SLE Custom VSL Presets' video ) or is this a bug that anyone can confirm?

best regards
Bjarne Kristiansen

Is VE Pro crucial to your workflow (i.e., preserving loaded samples, etc.)?

yes I would say so - even though I do have SSD's it still takes time to load up, also I use MIR.

You can also use MIR as a VST in the Notion mixer now, so I was thinking you could bypass VE Pro altogether. But then you'd still have the load time.

Hi Bill thx for answering
yes, I'm also think it would be nice to switch quickly btw Notion and Cubase routing to the same VE setup.

Your answer seems to indicate that it is a problem with Notion and not just me ?

I actually haven't used them together. I've used mostly Finale, but trying again with Notion 4. Plus, I write mostly small chamber pieces. :)

You might want to write to tech support. I think they're usually very responsive.
