Hi everybody,
I am newbie with Notion3
I am using kontakt and prule files without any problem (it is great !! )
But, I would like using port B, C D but I don't know how can I do that.
In my kontakt, I changed the value from A1 to B1for exemple, but, how can I switch to B1 on Notion3 ???
Thank you in advance to explain me clearly how can I do that ?
Regards
Cyril

Re: Change Port B, C, D
I am just able to handle channel 1-16 from Notion by using Instrument Change window, but only 16 channels is available.
How can I handle more channel 17-32 (port B), channel 33-48 (port C) ?
Please, help me, my demo version expire soon

Hi,
If you go into File>Preferences and click on the Midi tab you can then set all four ports to whichever output device you like.

Re: Change Port B, C, D
Thank you very much Colin for your reply.
I set all of four ports now, but nothing change ?
When I open Instrument Change window to set a specific midi channel port I can't select Port B1 (= channel 17 in fact) but only :
channel 1
channel 2
...
channel 16
no more ...
How can I select midi channel port B ?? (because I loaded my son in kontakt in the port B1, to be sure I am enought clear in my explanation)

You setup a staff for it when you create your score...

Re: Change Port B, C, D
I do that ...
I create a new staff by clicking on kontakt 4.
I change the staff name and abbreviation ... very good and easy
And ... how can I change the channel to set the channel number 17 (=B1)???
By using Change Instrument ?? It is only possible to set sixteen channel ...
I tried too to create a Basic Staff ... is it the good way, probably not ?

OK, that's VSTi... I thought you were asking about MIDI ports (aka External MIDI)
There's no way to address more than a single instance of a VSTi with the pRules. The work around is to use a virtual MIDI cable like loopBe30, and use Kontak in standalone mode with the 4 MIDI ports directed to the 4 Ports in Kontakt.

Re: Change Port B, C, D
loopBe30 is probably my solution.
But, before trying this, if I am using a standalone kontakt, I load my sounds into it, I write my partition in notion.
I close the file, close notion software, close kontakt ...
When I open again my notion file, I wonder if all of my sounds will be loaded again automatically in my standalone kontakt ?

No they won't.
But the good thing about that is that they don't close with your piece and need to be reloaded when you open the next.
