Amazing VST plugins
Posted: Sun Nov 06, 2011 9:36 amNow and then I step into some awesome, weird or funny VST plugins. I wanted to share them here. I encourage other users to do the same thing, specially if you are a mac user. (I think some of these are for windows only)
Aquestone: Free vocal synthetizer with lyrics

It works with japanese phonemes, but has lots of options and a complete english manual including a phoneme table. I think it's an awesome project. Maybe they could support more phonemes in the future.
You put the lyrics on a text file that can be loaded by the VST interface. It has many controls, mapped to midi CC. There are even midi controls to jump to different lines of the lyrics text file.
I think it's a great project. Unless you have the bucks and free gigas for VOTA, it works fine for draft vocals or choirs with other than Aahs and Oos, specially if used along with...

Quite nice effect to transform a single voice into a choir. Works with audio but also can work with instruments like Aquestone above. Song samples in their site are quite good, the plug in has several options (female/male, adult/child choir) and many more if you pay $25.
