New EWQL problem I didn't have before

Hi everybody,
since a few days I receive an error message when I try to set a staff to "EWQL Strings (Full) Violoncellos" : The sample file "C:\F:\Platinum Library\Platinum Samples\Platinum Strings\10 Cellos\CLS F\CLSthM F\CLSthM36 F.ews" could not be loaded.
I never had this problem before... (I use the gold version)
I can locate this file (I have it) but then, I'm prompted to search another file (that I do not have...)
If I ignore the message, no articulations work after (pizz, etc.)...
Is there something new I have missed ?
Thanks for your kind help
P.S. The same problem occurs with the double basses : The sample file "C:\F:\Platinum Library\Platinum Samples\Platinum Strings\9 Basses\9 Basses F\CBSptF F\CBSptF24 F.ews" could not be loaded (I can locate this file)
The sample file "C:\F:\Platinum Library\Platinum Samples\Platinum Strings\9 Basses\9 Basses F\CBSvbF F\CBSvbF24 F.ews" could not be loaded. (I do not own this file)

I guess those rules were made for platinum, I get that message as well... but loading the "lite" patches works fine.
I see that you didn't have this problem before, so it could have been introduced by a recent update

So, it sounds like a bug ?
Notion was supposed to work with platinum as well as with gold ?
If I use "lite" patch, I think I am "loosing" things (articulations ?). Am I right ?
You're right, I have recently updated Notion to the last version...
Could we get the right rules ?
Can somebody from Notion help us ? Brian ?
Thanks for your kind help by advance.

not really a bug, I think they just didn't consider writing prules for the gold version...
You're not loosing articulations with the "lite" patches, the difference is with "lites" notion loads the keyswitch master patch, where you change articulation via keyswitch, while with "full" patches notion loads every articulation on a different midi channel. Furthermore, "full" looks for all three mic positions, and "lite" only stage mics... I'm not sure though, since I only have stage and close mics gold. But I guess this is the reason why we get the "sample not found" error...

Yes, but I didn't get this error before

BTW, if I use lite, are the Notion articulations working or have I to specify them by notes ?
(if keyswitches appear as notes, the score might become unreadable...)

no, they do respond to signs, like pizz, arco, col legno and the like...

Hi. It looks to me like there are two drives named in the file location C: and F:. I presume C is your main drive and F possibly your DVD/CD drive. Maybe when you did the upgrade you had your DVD in the drive so that when you opened the file it looked on the DVD. If you have since removed the DVD the program is still trying to find it on F drive. Probably totally wrong but worth a look. Colin

Hi Guys,
I noticed the same thing. The rules are originally designed to work with Platinum and in the past, the gold and silver editions didn't seem to have a problem. It appears that with the latest Play update that was released, browsing to the root directory of your sounds folder is not enough for Play to pick up the samples. I just noticed this as well over here at the office. Right now, you have to search your hard drive for each sample and load them individually. Either this or downgrade to an older version of Play. You may want to contact East West and ask them why they made this change. I'll see if there is anything that can be done on our end but I really think this is an issue with Play. What I have been doing is setting up one large score with most of the instruments that I use and saving it for use as a template. Whenever I start a new score, I just delete the instruments that I'm not going to be using.

No, no, I noticed that "double-drive" many times and it seems to be a default path set by Notion (some times you can read LuboAstinov in the user name).
But, even if I indicate the right drive, it doesn't work (and it's normal as I do not own the missing samples !)
