Quantize???

Am I missing something here?

After using Finale for so many years, maybe I have been spoiled by the ability to set the quantization (rhythm value) before or after playing into a staff. In other words, if I'm only using values down to eighth notes, I can tell finale that anything that sounds like a sixteenth is probably a poorly played eighth. Notion does not seem to have this basic ability so I end up with some very interesting rhythms.

Without the ability to play into Notion in real time (and given the basic manual entry options) this program has been a huge waste of money for me. It certainly is not a replacement for Finale regardless of cost. I am willing to live with some of the other quirks, but this one is a deal breaker.

Please, if I am missing where "they" hid this feature, point it out to me. I would love to look foolish for missing it. ;)

I have the same question, and I didn't find the answer...
Most of the time I import old midifiles of mine which are not quantized and Notion often "translate" in an odd way...

This is definitely a needed feature, and I hope it is added soon. Though, Notion does a reasonably good job (IMO) of interpreting multiple voices and simplifying rhythms, though, it's still not a replacement for quantization.

I agree with you for both of the things you told. I must say that it is the only score editor I have tried that gives a "readable" version of an imported midifile.
But it is not perfect anyway and we must have the option to custom quantize even a few number of bars in order to achieve the work...
