Bill

I have listened to this and it is a bit cheap sounding in my opinion.

As a matter of fact, there are a number of great accordion samples in Kontakt4 VST, working very well together (as VST) with Notion3. I use them all the time, but again, this only applies for plain music: no trills (only midi induced trills), dynamics are rather rough, every register is a new instrument... But it sounds great. There is only one instrument, but with a number of different sounds. For each sound, the basses are present and play automatically when notated in the correct position. (See screenshot)

The X-Sample Hohner Gola accordion is great in every way (different registers, variety of basses, possibility of convertible bass... BUT, it needs special presets. It is impossible to store the start dynamic (and other settings) while saving your score. When you save and close the score, it losos all its initial settings and resets them to neutral (0). As a consequence, you have to repeat all the chosen parameters again (registration, start volume and expression levels) every time when you (re)open the score. At X-Samples, they say that this is a deliberate choice, no to influence the settings of the instrument in different scores. Search me, I don't understand that logic... :?

Bolder Sounds has a free Button Accordion for Kontakt (Native Instruments); and they have sound sample libraries for other rare and unusual instruments, which is fabulous . . .

Fabulous! :)
