2 q's from potential new user (about the sounds)

Postby JorgV » Sat Sep 19, 2009 5:20 am

Hi,

never heard of Notion until I stumbled upon an announcement for Notion3 somewhere. So far it looks really promising and I am anxious to try out the demo. I have 2 question on forehand though:

-Will there be a version available without the sound library?
As an owner of VSL-SE and plenty of other libraries, I actually have not much need for the sound library, even though it will probably be great :) . I also already own the full versions of the included IK products. Mostly I use my GM synth when making scores anyway - I just need to hear what I am scoring. When I'm creating something that has to sound nice I use Cubase. So I my question is if there will be a 'lite' version (which maybe also cheaper ;)), without the 10gb's of sounds but just the scoring program? I am probably not the only one not needing the sounds, so maybe you have thought about this already?

-Will the included effects and sounds be available for other VST-hosts?
If there isn't an option available to not buy the included instruments, will I be able to use them in other hosts? Like Cubase, in my case?

Thanks!

Glad you found us!

To answer your questions....

There is no "Lite" version in the works at the moment.

We are not currently working on a VST-host version of N3. You can use Notion3 a number of different ways with a DAW like Cubase (ReWire, MIDI/Music XML, Audio import export).

Hope this helps!
