Best settings for randomize

Postby jonknowles8 » Tue Jul 20, 2010 1:09 am

What are some good settings for the new randomize feature?

2%-5% for beginning and ending of notes?

How about the default velocity settings of lowest 80 and highest 90%?

I used this feature in another program but it's been a while.

I've found that between 8-10% for the note beginnings and endings...and between 80-90% on the velocity work for me, but there are certainly applications outside of those settings that are great!

But the velocity values don't seem to be percentages. They are actual velocity values, so if you apply them to the whole score, you can forget about your dynamic markings.

Yeah; I like where randomized settings are going (and I think the timing options are spot on), but I think it would be better to apply randomized volume/velocity after the dynamics are processed so that the dynamics vary slightly within the written dynamic range.
