Occasionally, I get an error message when I open a file. I suspect it's because much of my work comes into Notion as XML exported from Finale — whether the real culprit is Finale, Notion, or just some shortcomings of XML is beyond me, and as yet it's not terribly high on my list to collect and report these error messages and other problems I encounter when importing files.
I just don't understand why somebody went to the trouble of informing me of an error without actually explaining it: Today's message said something like:
"4 erroneous slur packages were removed from part 24."
Where can I find out which of the parts is number 24, and why am I not told which measures contained the bad slurs? Proofreading music is already such a tedious, necessary evil. Why not help us out a little?
