Bug! velocity influence on pitch

Postby ulrik » Thu Mar 18, 2010 4:35 am

If applying ffff on Notion 3 instrument "solo violin" it will change pitch, is anybody else having this problem?
I have the updated sounds.

Not at this extent, but it's true: some slight pitch changes/phases shift can occour at diffent dynamics or range (eg violins playing in a very high register).
Not on N3 at the moment, so I can't be more specific.

Now I have tested the Notion 3 instrument "Solo violin" from lowest to highest note, going from pppp to ffff and I found that 3 notes change pitch when using the dynamic f to ffff, and the notes are, e3, f3 and f#3, it's definitely a bug.

I just posted about this yesterday, reporting the Gb playing a B on solo vln. I didn't realize it was the dynamic that was causing it! Sure enough, in my case, if I reduce dynamic to mf, I get the right pitch. Thanks for a workaround. I tried marking mf then adding a sforzando or an accent mark; either creates same problem.
