MIDI import; how to make notes visible

Postby David Smith » Wed Mar 10, 2010 11:52 pm

This started as a question, now a tip:
When importing a MIDI file, parts show up in sequencer notation. If I chose menu Staff Settings...> Notation/Tab, the view would change, but notes would be invisible. The way that works is to select some portion of the part(s), and then choose menu Tools>Convert to Notation. Then assign the instrument and appropriate clef. (The manual describes this in 14.9, but earlier in 14.4, it refers to the Staff Settings... menu, which threw me off for quite a while.)
