Gliss./Port. and 3rd party VST instruments

When using third party instruments (like LASS) who rely on creating portamento and glissando by overlapping notes, I notice that Notion actually plays the glissando by using many notes. Is there any way to turn this off so that I can notate a glissando to my score but still play the glissando by just overlapping the notes in the Overlay mode?
