Multimeasure Rests

I'm sorry if this question has been answered, but I can't find an answer. How do you get it to notate multimeasure rests? The User Guide says to go to the Score Options & Parts Options menus, and set the number of measures to be combined, and then when you pull out the parts under Dynamic Parts, it's supposed to work, but I've tried that MANY times and can't get it to do multimeasure rests. The Score & Parts Options menus say that it's a LIMIT on the number of rests that can be combined -- so is there something else you need to do to combine them? (I've tried selecting the measures of rest that I want to combine, but there doesn't seem to be a command to combine them.)
