Rewire Notion SLE to Protools 10 problems

Hi all
I am having a bit of a problem using rewire between Protools and Notion SLE, I am using PT as the master and SLE as the slave and have tried it with SLE as master and PT as slave , either way tho I cant seem to be able to record in SLE and sync to PT. Sometimes I can achieve sync (ie hitting play in PT will play notes that have been MANUALLY entered in SLE) or sometimes I can record via my guitar controller to SLE but when i hit rec in SLE PT wont run.
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.
P.S. I do have considerable experience with DAW's in general but this one has me foxed.
