Rule for Random Notes

Does anyone know if it's possible to create a rule to play a random note? For example, there are several percussion libraries that have varied sampled hits assigned to different keyboard notes (Yellow Tools and Garritan's World Instruments), so three different palm hits with a djembe may be assigned to three different notes. Instead of having to worry varying the sounds manually, it would be good to be able to have a rule that basically alternated between the notes/samples that were used automatically.
