Re: Bartok's MSPC: I. Andante Tranquillo

For the most part you've got good results here. The only problem I had was hearing the beginning and the very end. Soft is good; inaudible is not. Maybe it's my system, but perhaps raising the mixer a bit might be a good thing.

Re: CONCERTO FOR PIANO IN A MINOR (Vacation)

I can't say as I've ever studied orchestration beyond having heard the results of the big boys and knowing what I thought worked. I didn't know Rimsky-Korsakov's work had been put online, so I'll have to go look for it. There are some decent Choir VST's out there, but I haven't gotten any of them ye...

Re: my first attempt !

Oh, by all means, score! But remember that even live music ends up being programmed - that's why there's a conductor up front, acting like a human mixer!

Re: Lo scampato pericolo

Very glad to see I'm not the only one who seems to have never quite made it out of the 19th century! I can see the Haydn and Rossini. I did find myself wondering for almost the first half, So, where's the severe disease? , but then that answered itself. It's good to see that somebody can still craft...

Re: CONCERTO FOR PIANO IN A MINOR (Vacation)

Ah yes! The eternal conflict between having a good computer and just trying the get the @#&@*@&!!! thing to work! Trust me, I do understand! I discovered some of Guareschi's books in my grandparents' home and read them. When my grandmother passed on and the family was dividing her possession...

Re: Cascades, for String Orchestra

Hmm... Red Sox... That would be baseball, right?... (You guessed it: biiiiiiiiiiiig sports fan here!) In each case, whether moving water or baseball, you do seem to have a knack for capturing what it you're trying to describe without reducing it to orchestral sound effects. I'd like to hear more...

Re: my first attempt !

I suspect having trouble getting the dynamics you want is a complaint most conductors of live organizations would echo about their own performers. Fortunately, you have the advantage of having the mixer to help fine tune it all. Somehow, it doesn't sound like your first attempt! But it does seem to ...

Re: Posting Size...

As it turns out, Box was indeed the way to go. The advise is much appreciated, and I hope you'll still be speaking to me after you hear it!

CONCERTO FOR PIANO IN A MINOR (Vacation)

I wrote this concerto for a friend who does not perform due to health issues - but why shouldn't she have fun at home? I've always liked programmatic music, and I based this on some wonderful vacation spots that travelers ought to visit - not one of which I've ever actually seen myself. I had to pos...

Re: Posting Size...

Hmm... That made no difference. The first movement is 3.9 mB, but I can't get even that to load. Any ideas?
