Any way to get hairpins to work on different channels?
As far as I can tell, hairpins only send the CC on channel 1 - even if the articulation or technique calls for a different channel. I've submitted this as a bug report already, but is there some rule I am not aware of that I can use to fix this?

Re: I don't understand how Notion is handling memory with VSTis
Well, keep in mind that EastWest doesn't call them lite patches. They call them Keyswitch patches. The reason they exist is to allow the user to have more articulations than you can fit into the 16 channels Play has. In fact, the EWQL manual talks about the keyswitch patches taking up more memory th...

I don't understand how Notion is handling memory with VSTis
My question is specifically about EWQL, but I'd imagine it would or at least may pertain to other VSTis. Essentially, I cannot understand why the Full presets take up so much more memory than the Lite presets. Obviously, I understand the concept: the lite presets exist because they take up less RAM....

Re: Editing EWQL Rules: Is there a better way to do this?
I forgot to mention: the articulation tests (rather than the technique ones) presented another problem. In the EW rules (and I can't think of a better way to do it), the first rule per instrument is always a "reset" rule which triggers the standard articulation. This way when an articulati...

Editing EWQL Rules: Is there a better way to do this?
As I mentioned in a previous topic, I have encountered a problem with the EWQL lite presets. The way that Notion handles the rules, it goes through from top to bottom and follows every instruction that it encounters, not just the most "complete" one. For example, suppose someone has entere...

Re: detache
Assuming you used the techniques listed in the custom rules documentation, you need to use express entry to get them into the score. So press the ' key (that is, the apostrophe), and then type in the first few letters of the technique. For example, to get the detache mark, you would type 'deta or so...
Re: Is there any way to... (involving dynamics)
Aha! Found a solution. Go into sequencer mode and double click on the bar after the note, and enter the velocity you want the note to end up as. This will play the note at that level, but the hairpin will still follow your dynamic marking. For some reason, this doesn't work perfectly. Notion doesn't...

Is there any way to... (involving dynamics)
Is there any way (via rules file, list file, or anything else) set Notion to activate notes which are crescendo-ed at the final dynamic, rather than the initial? In other words, say I have a note that starts at mp and has a crescendo take it to ff, like this: O mp < ff Currently (as far as I underst...

Re: Is there something I'm missing, or is this a big problem?
pcartwright wrote:Sorry, I meant to say expression list. Look for start techniques and end techniques.
Ahhh this is wonderful! Thanks so much!
