Re: How do I set the tempo?
Set the cursor to the first position where the tempo setting should be active, then add a "beats per second" annotation (the online help calls it Metronome Mark). It is the fourth tool seen from the right of the toolbar. Its symbol is a quarter note and an equal sign.

importing MIDI files (compatibility issues)
I am trying to import a commercial MIDI file into Notion for iPad. Direct import crashes Notion. I then tried the MidiSwing application on my MacBook to have a closer look at the contents of the MIDI file. It contains 16 instruments, the first having a special task as tempo track. I saved it again a...

Re: notion for ipad user question
I can't see chord diagrams anywhere in Progression for iPad. It is possible to set the fretboard to chord mode, which then allows to stack several notes at one position in time. I don't see the means to enter chords by name like "E2" nor do I see the means to enter chords by selecting them...

Re: import midi files
You must find that iTunes view which displays the local data managed by the Notion app. There you probably add the desired file. After synchronization it is supposed to be on the iPad. Simpler (and what I do) is emailing yourself the file and opening the email from the iPad, then click the attachmen...

Reverse Engineering Someone Somewhere (In Summertime)
Hi folks, I have started learning the electrical guitar and bass a couple of months ago. My current obsession of the last weeks is to find out how to play a nice song from Scottish band Simple Minds: Someone Somewhere (In Summertime) It features a nice guitar intro and I like its bass line. Some fol...

Re: Discuss and share Progression for iPad here!
I had the same problem. Progression's help screens are good, but they stop a level too early as they don't explain the individual functions on a toolbar, like what the different pause symbols mean. I just had a look of the Notion for iPad help screens and here they noticed this too, and provided the...

Re: Saving issues
Aside from the stability issue, I think the save concept is a bit strange or at least different from what I expect: From observation it seems that once I change anything in the editor it might lead to an update of the local data file, or not. To be sure I need to save it or email it, which often eno...

Re: notion for ipad user question
I had a similar question - why should I buy Notion for iPad, if I already bought Progression for iPad? What would be helpful for buying decisions would be a feature comparison of both products. On the other hand, the prices for the iPad versions are only a fraction of the prices of their big brother...
