Re: Jazz Chords
If you install the JazzCord font from the Notion fonts folder onto your system, you can open MS Word or similar and "insert symbol", and see exactly what special characters are available in that font, insert what you want to use into Word, and then cut and paste the symbol into an opened t...

Re: Jazz Chords
If you just need it for display, and not playback, add it as a text box and type it in, using the JazzText font, around 10 or 11 points (it doesn't match exactly at either setting, it seems to me). Or the JazzCord font (around 11 or 12 points, I think) if you need flats and sharps, since there's no ...

Re: Chord entry
Not ideal, but if you just need it for display and not playback using rhythm slashes, you could add it as a text box. Maybe Notion can tell us what font and size are used by default on chord markings, but Times New Roman, 9 or 10 points, seems to be close enough. Or you can select the "Jazz&quo...

Re: Open Score to Short Score
Actually, I think the OP can do what they want to do here, you don't need to be able to paste into a voice. If you have two treble cleff staves, and two bass cleff staves, as I think would be expected for SATB, and you intend to paste them into a grand staff with SA on top and TB on the bottom, you ...

Re: Can default RULES conflict with custom?
As for the question of potential conflicts with default rules, I don't think that happens as long as you have a working ruleset. It may revert to the default rules if your custom ruleset has an error that causes Notion to ignore it, though. I believe the default ruleset for VST plugins that are not ...

Re: Can default RULES conflict with custom?
One other thing you could be running into is that if you use a technique name (or condition name, or articulation name) that isn't recognized by Notion, the program ignores the entire ruleset (or perhaps the entire .prules file, I'm not sure about that). So if you have technique="fp" in yo...

Re: Can default RULES conflict with custom?
The way some techniques get triggered by custom rules can be very screwy. Although ExpressionList is where most techniques are defined, there are a lot that aren't defined there, or don't behave the way you'd expect. I've also noticed that the two letter dynamic techniques like "fp" don't ...

Re: More on NEW TECHNIQUE
I believe he's responding to me, we were discussing adding express entry techniques to the ExpressionList file in another thread. One thing to note is that Notion only reads the ExpressionList file when Notion first opens. So you have to close out of all scores and start Notion again to see any chan...

Re: setting up custom rules for trills in Notion 4
That's strange, I have definitely been able to get them to trigger in custom rules using those technique names. I placed the "tr" marking over the note instead of under, but that shouldn't make any difference. I can't imagine this making a difference, but did you try using the tilda keyboa...

Re: Legato
Ah, that's a good point. I misunderstood your last line. I thought you meant you greatly preferred the old behavior.
I wouldn't worry too much about it, I suspect the likelihood of them implementing something like filtering auditioned notes through Group ID rulesets is pretty much zero.
