Re: Rules - What's new in Notion 4?

Actually, there are numerous improvements to custom rules in N4, and I had posted a fairly detailed summary of what I found (which is what elerouxx's second post was responding to). But for some reason every one of my posts from before December 2012 has been removed from the forum; I'm assuming it w...

Re: How to add a controller?

Hi Surfwhammy, You've got it! My problem is there ... No solution. I may be wrong, but: in reading portions of the manual, it talks about the organ being capable of receiving velocity levels with MIDI Note On messages. Obviously the organ keyboard is not velocity sensitive, but perhaps it attemps t...

Re: How to add a controller?

Dear dcd11, I am very grateful for all the effort you made for me. Your explanations were so clear that I had no trouble applying them. After several tests, unfortunately it appears that there is a bug. Simultaneously to each 'Note On' Notion sends a message that disrupts controllers. The B0 0B 5A ...

Re: How to add a controller?

I believe you can record any CC you want, they were just using CC11 as an example. If you have a controller that will send CC7 data (or whatever CC you need), you can record that instead on the sequencer staff discussed above. There are also ways to convert the CC between the controller and the Noti...

Re: Note-after-same still a mystery

Hi dcd111, Note-After-Same is a rule that can be used to trigger repititions. Vienna has the capability to let users create and modify their own repititions. One could conceivably set the note-after-same to trigger a specific matrix, which is setup by the user matrix preset and send a key switch to...

Re: Bowed Percussion

If you look under the Techniques palette for a given instrument, it will list if a bowed technique is available. I don't believe any of the non-pitched percussion has a bowed technique. As for pitched percussion, I believe the Notion instruments with bowed techniques are the Crotales, Marimba, and V...

Re: How to make condition for 'o' key markings?

The new rules instructions are unfortunately somewhat deficient in describing the available techniques that can be tested, particularly those that are notated with symbols. The list of available techniques to test are in a separate file, misleadingly named "Techniques for Notion Sounds", a...
