Re: Shift-Y: what will it do?
I'm not sure how the rules will look, but it would be great to be able to apply VST rules to a midi output. I know that rule sets for the midi ports require different xml lines, but I don't know if that matters as far as shift y is concerned.

Re: "How To" Videos
This may be the wrong place for this (admin, please move if needed), but is there a way to deal with CC data on different MIDI channels? If so can you post a video or documentation on a workaround? Thread discussing the problem can be found here: http://forum.notionmusic.com/viewtopic.php?f=24&p...

Re: Systematic development of rules: GREAT but...
The admin has said that Notion is reworking the original Shift Y idea, so, personally, I want to wait to see what the final outcome is before jumping into more rule sets. Now, to answer a few questions. Notion developed the instrument IDs for the four supported libraries. I do not know if there was ...

Re: Moving data from Notion 4 to sequencer
Here are my steps in Reaper.
Background info:
I have LoopMIDI inputs enabled in Reaper
I have LoopMIDI enabled in MIDI ports A - D in Notion.
You can see the MIDI signal coming through Reaper (host) when notes are played back in Notion's MIDI A staff.

Re: Moving data from Notion 4 to sequencer
I have it working with Reaper as host, Notion as slave (both 64 bit). I'm not that familiar with Sonar anymore, so I can't help you there. I recall having some problems when Reaper used "both ends" of the virtual MIDI cable. So my only suggestion would be to make sure Sonar only has access...

Re: Moving data from Notion 4 to sequencer
2) Why is the number of MIDI outputs A-D limited to 4 ? Why not being able to access any existing MIDI lane (like virtual ones provided by utilities such as LoopMIDI, etc.) ? The number if MIDI outputs is dictated by Notion. You should keep in mind that these four outputs exist for applications suc...

Re: Can Notion 4 Split Multi-Voice Staves Into Separate Stav
I think the opposite feature would be nice as well: the ability to combine two staves (assuming one voice, same transposition, etc) into one staff. That way you could compose on separate staves if needed, combine them for the conductor score, split them for the player parts, etc. I think I added tha...

Re: Moving data from Notion 4 to sequencer
A few of the xml lines needed are different for the MIDI outputs compared to VSL and other supported libraries. I don't have VSL and haven't looked too deeply into the rules used, but GPO and EWQLSO rules are based on instrument ID (so I would assume that VSL is probably the same). I'm not really su...

Re: Moving data from Notion 4 to sequencer
1) Is the DAW the ReWire Host in this case or the Slave? Sonar can only act as host. Some DAWs can act as host or slave. Notion can act as either, but again, Sonar would be host and Notion slave. So if I understand well I send the MIDI *out* of Notion from ports A,B,C,D via loopMIDI to say SONAR, a...

Re: Shift Y and Group ID for Rules
Thanks for the response. I'm really excited about this feature. I thought the Shift Y concept was a nice addition, so any inclusion to the GUI would be even better!
Regards.
