Re: I love Notion
Notion3 is by far the most significant advancement in software that I have ever purchased for music creation. This was (and still is) the key that unlocks the dream for me, to write real music and hear it played immediatly without any intermediary extraneous steps required. This is such a directly m...

stop/prevent auto-scrolling?
anybody figured out a way to stop (or at least avoid) the automatic scrolling of score that jumps suddenly as the playback marker reaches each measure boundary? It is very disorienting/annoying/confounding/etc... so I am wondering how other folks cope with it. Maybe there is some workaround, or a ha...

Re: things I don't want to see
I found it annoying too, so I carefully experimented (with backup copies) and discovered that it is possible to completely disappear instruments that you do not want to see at all. In the expressionlist file under support/lists if you look closely you will notice a tag called "link" that h...

piano damper and half-damper with repedalling
this one may be more or less useful depending upon which library(s) of piano instrument(s) you happen to be fortunate to own. It requires pasting an additional snippet into your expressionlist file, so I suppose it is only really for folks bold enough to venture into undocumented "hacks". ...

validating xml editor
If you are tired of stumbling over miniscule typos that "break" your rules files, and then having to go hunt for the missing space/quote/slash/bracket/whatever... Using what is called a "validating" xml editor means that it makes sure the xml syntax is at least "well formed&...

Re: "Memory is getting low!". EWQL's request drives me crazy
suggest either jbridge as others have mentioned, else spring some $ for ViennaEnsemblePro. I went with the latter (VEPro) and have been very happy that I did. It lets you make "persistent" configurations of any instruments or groups of instruments, and then stick shortcuts in the windows &...

Re: shortcut hotkey for "soft-attack" articulation???
I haven't found a shortcut; I honestly didn't realize this had been implemented given that it doesn't appear to be available in the docker or via key command. I'll go back through the manual and see if can be access via a apostrophe/text shortcuts. Sad to say ...you won't find it there. I even trie...

Re: Garritan Personal Orchestra
be sure to download pcartwrite's excellent custom ruleset for GPO, he did a great job on these and quite a few folks have even used what he posted as a prime example to learn from and create our own rulesets for other libs in similar fashion. Highly recommended... http://forum.notionmusic.com/viewto...

shortcut hotkey for "soft-attack" articulation???
I found this very useful note-articulation marking tucked away down under a couple context menues in the GUI, it puts a tiny Glyph on a single note which (depending upon instument patch) makes a soft smooth attack just for that note. select a note and right click to the context menu ...notes...artic...

Re: Custom Rules show up in Score Setup window?
...looksee the expressionlist file, and for a great hint check out erufailon's posted ruleset and see the additions made in his custom expressionlist. I hesitate to advise on this much further, because it is all pure guesswork on my part and you could really mess up your system if not careful. I jus...
